 Rh Nor files appeal to Federal CourtBy - - 2005-10-20 | The landmark Kuching High Court judgement in recognizing Native Customary Rights (NCR) lands of Rumah Nor longhouse residents "suffered" a setback when the Malaysian Court of Appeals upheld the appeal by the Borneo Pulp Plantation Sdn Bhd, Borneo Pulp and Paper Sdn Bhd, and the Superintendent of Lands and Surveys when the judgement was delivered on 8th July 2005. Full judgement is attached. In August 2005, the longhouse residents, through their lawyer, filed an appeal to the highest court in Malaysia, the Federal Court, against the Court of Appeal's decision.
